Turning the Shutter Sound Off on Your Camera

Turning the Shutter Sound Off on Your Camera

We've never needed a reason to do this nor did it ever occur for us to silence out cameras but alas, as we grow and gain more followers, we enter a new world of engagement where we learn not only about our own cameras but also the people using them and what they enjoy! After we made several videos showing off the shutter sound, we got a few people asking if there was a way to turn it off. Either they were at a wedding and needed a silenced camera, or they were looking for a more discreet photo-taking experience while they travel abroad. We get it and we're more than happy to share this trick to give an even better experience to everyone!

It starts with de-assembling the camera so that it's just the camera board in hand and turning it over to the back. On the bottom right, you'll see 2 small wires, one black and one red. They're attached to a mini speaker. All you need to do is gently pull out the wires from the speaker using your fingernails or tweezers. Once you do that, you're good to go! You can always go back and pop it right back in if you're missing the shutter sound but for now, you have a silenced Paper Shoot Camera!
